After hundreds of successful jaguar safaris in the Northern Pantanal, we've found the sweet spot.

Our most popular itinerary is a 6-day, 5-night safari with four full river days searching for jaguars.

It gives guests enough time to experience the Pantanal properly, without feeling rushed or leaving wishing they'd stayed just one more day. This is why we have also made it the length for ​our group tours​ too.

Day 1 – Welcome to the Pantanal

Your adventure begins the moment you land in Cuiabá.

Before you even arrive, your guide will already have been in contact via WhatsApp. We'll have all of your flight details, so there's no need to worry about finding us. Cuiabá Airport is small and easy to navigate, and your guide will be waiting as you exit the terminal.

From there, we begin the drive into the Pantanal.

Around halfway, we stop for lunch before continuing along the famous Transpantaneira Highway.

The drive itself is part of the safari.

It's common to see deer, capybaras, jabirus, caiman, hyacinth macaws, and countless other species along the way, and if we spot something special, we'll happily stop for photos.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Porto Jofre.

After checking into the lodge and settling into your room, it's time for dinner and a good night's sleep before our first day on the river.

Days 2–5 – Four Full Days on the River

Breakfast is served at 6:00 am, and by 6:30 am we're already on the water.

These four days are what make this itinerary so popular.

Rather than rushing through the Pantanal, you have time to settle into the rhythm of the river. Wildlife changes every day, and having four full days dramatically increases your chances of witnessing a wide variety of behaviour—not just ticking jaguars off your list.

No two days are ever the same.

Why We Stay on the River

One thing that sets our safaris apart is that we don't return to the lodge for lunch.

Instead, a freshly prepared lunch is delivered directly to our boat.

Many operators return to the lodge in the middle of the day, but once you factor in travelling back, eating lunch and returning to the search area, it often means losing close to three hours on the river.

For us, that's simply too much valuable wildlife time to give up.

Unlike African big cats, jaguars don't necessarily spend the hottest part of the day resting.

In fact, midday can be one of the most exciting periods to be on the river.

As temperatures rise, caiman often haul themselves onto exposed sandbanks to warm up. Those exposed caiman become potential prey, creating opportunities to witness hunting behaviour and, if you're lucky, even a jaguar kill.

Some of our most memorable sightings have happened while other boats were back at the lodge having lunch.

Day 6 – One Final Adventure

After breakfast, we begin the journey back towards Cuiabá.

Even the drive home is part of the experience.

The Transpantaneira continues to deliver wildlife opportunities right until the very end, so cameras stay close by as we make our way back.

After lunch, we continue to Cuiabá Airport, arriving in time for afternoon and evening flights.
